TEETH GRINDING

TEETH GRINDING

Teeth grinding, also called Bruxism, is a condition in which people unconsciously grind their teeth and clench their jaw. This can lead to teeth damage or a painful jaw. It can be mildly annoying or severe. Teeth grinding can happen during day time (awake bruxism) or during sleep (sleep bruxism). If you clench your teeth for long, continuous periods, it can cause tiredness or pain in the jaw and other problems.

Continuously clenching and grinding your teeth also causes the jaw muscle (masseter) to grow in size and become stronger. This causes the clenching and grinding to get worse over time.
