AGE SPOTS

AGE SPOTS

Age spots or solar lentigines are pigmented spots on the skin, usually arising after the age of 40. They are light brown to brown with a uniform colour, usually flat with clearly defined border. They may be single or multiple. They do not fade in winter. Most common cause is exposure to UV radiation.

Seborrhoeic keratoses, is another common skin condition. It can appear in adult life, typically beginning to appear around 30s-40s and can increase with age. Some people inherit a tendency to develop a very large number of them.

Here at Mkskin clinic, Milton Keynes, we examine the skin and carry out dermoscopic examination and offer treatment for age spots and seborrhoeic keratoses.
