What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is a bio-remodelling product that works through the slow release of Hyaluronic acid. While it consists of pure HA, it is not a dermal filler in the traditional sense, as its function is not to volumize but to induce bio-stimulation of cells.

This means it stimulates the laying-down of new collagen and elastin in the superficial layers, just under the surface of the skin. Traditional fillers are used to replace volume and enhance contours and structures, whereas Profhilo is focused on bio-revitalisation. Bio-revitalisation stimulates your own skin cells (Fibroblasts) and fat cells to function better to create more youthful looking tissue and skin.

Once injected Profhilo spreads and becomes integrated into the skin. Profhilo is used to treat skin laxity on the face and neck and helps remodel wrinkled, sagging and crepey skin. It hydrates the skin and has a stimulatory effect on the cells producing collagen and elastin to help tighten and lift the skin, improving skin quality giving a more youthful look.  The result is lifted tissue with improved texture, intense hydration and a lovely glow.

Treatment takes around 30 minutes, there are very specific injection points. Local anaesthetic and ice packs are used if needed. It is relatively pain free and there is no downtime required.

Profhilo involves 2 treatments spread 4 weeks apart. Patients can expect increased firmness, elasticity, and an overall improved quality of the skin with the effects lasting about six months.
